About a quarter-acre of heavy brush burned in a fire Tuesday afternoon next to Haycraft Park in Maalaea.
The fire, reported at 2:36 p.m., was contained at 3:25 p.m., the Fire Department reported. Fire crews remained on scene for mop-up operations Tuesday.
The department reported clear skies and winds of about 20 mph at the time of the fire.
Kahului engine and tanker companies, a Wailea tanker company and a battalion chief responded to the fire.
