How have you been keeping yourself occupied during the quarantine period?

I’ve been watching a lot of movies… at least two-three in a day. I also watch TV shows. I put in an hour of workout each day - cardio, walking, jogging and skipping… just to keep myself healthy.

How do you keep away negative thoughts after all the depressing news around the pandemic?

Inherently, I’m a positive person given any situation. So it’s not at all difficult for me to keep negative thoughts away. Right now, you need to understand that jo sabka hoga, woh apna hoga. So don’t get too stressed about what is to come. Just go with the flow and take each day as it comes.

What fitness/diet regime can one follow at home?

Keep it simple. Follow a healthy and balanced diet. Avoid fad diets like keto because you’re anyway frustrated sitting at home. So, if you don’t have your carbs and enjoy a balanced meal, you’ll get cranky. It has a spiralling effect.

Include 30 per cent proteins, 30 per cent carbohydrates and 20 per cent fibre in your diet. Enjoy rice and rotis. It’s okay to have chocolate once in a while. No harm in enjoying that. In terms of fitness, I walk up and down my living room, or around my building. I skip without a rope. Just keep your heart rate high.

Anything specific one should one eat to stay healthy?

There’s nothing specific but a combination of a simple and balanced diet. Eat whatever you want but in proportion. Don’t over eat. I have a chocolate after every meal.

What have you missed most during this quarantine period?

My niece. She was here before the lockdown. I haven’t seen her since then. She’s the only one I’m missing right now. She used to visit us almost every day. I miss having her around.
